Art is a great way for students to express themselves and this page will give you some great ideas to incorporate art into the elementary classroom!
The Cute little Caterpillar

This is also a science lesson, but it is a great way to do a fun project WHILE learning! I did this with a group of kindergarten students, but it would be great for any age.
Here are the materials you will need:
- Plain paper plates (1 per student)
- Green construction paper for leaves (4 per student)
- Black Marker to make labels & arrows (5-6 for the class)
- Beans (2-3 per student)
- Pasta: Rotini, Shells, and Bow Tie (1 piece per student of each kind)
- Glue
- Labels - either sticky notes, or construction paper will work well
Assemble the Life Cycle diagram according to the picture. For my kindergartners I had everything pre-cut, counted, written, and put in baggies. This helped them just be able to figure out what went where, and glue. You can do whatever is best for you age group.
Enjoy!
Feeling Buggy!
Keeping right along with the bug theme, I found some awesome bug crafts! These are all found on one website, and could be easily incorporated into any classroom depending on what students are learning about. Feel free to check out the website by clicking here.
Enjoy!
