More for the Door

Here is another creative way to decorate the door for the beginning of the school year. Creating a crayon box labeled with "Our New Pack" and then putting all of the kids' names on colorful crayons on the door! Love it!

While this isn't necessarily a decoration idea per say, it is a great idea and I wanted to share.  This is a reward system idea. The teacher says: " When the class gets a compliment from someone other than myself for good behavior they will earn a brownie for their pan. When the pan gets full of brownies the class gets real brownies" Such a fun prize!

Enjoy!

My Hard Work Clip

This is a magnet for parents to put their child's work up on the fridge. The poem says: I made this special magnet on the very first day so that my first grade work will always be on displayI love this idea, especially as a first day of school activity. Before school I would hot glue magnets to the back of the clothespins. I would probably take the pictures the first day or second depending on how much time I have. Then I would print the pictures and if I was really feeling adventurous, I would get them laminated. Then depending on the age of the students, they could cut the pictures out, or I could do it for them. I'd probably attach the pictures with hot glue if they're laminated, but if they're not, I'd use Tacky glue.

As for the written part, I could have that done and copied and students could cut it out, or I could do it depending on their age and/or the time available. Then I would send them home on Friday of the first week.

This is a cute idea so students feel that their work is important. It could also be a good motivator. I could say "make sure you do a great job on this so it can go on  your clip at home!"

Enjoy!

Great decoration idea!

February Mardi Gras Door Display Bulletin Board Idea

I absolutely LOVE this idea! This teacher took pictures of her students and blew them up to print on one page. The pictures were laminated and put up on the wall around the door. Then during different parts of the year, all you have to do is add different decorations to the faces.

You could do masks, hats, necklaces, etc. Students could even decorate the things that they're going to be "wearing". This is such a fun way to decorate the classroom! Plus students feel like they're really important in the classroom.

                               Enjoy!
